Itinerary
YOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1 | Arrive in Rome
You will be met at Rome Airport and then transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until you gather with your fellow travelers and your tour director for a welcome reception and orientation. (WR)
Day 2 | Rome
This morning, we will visit the Colosseum, a symbol of Rome. After our visit, continue to see the splendid Arch of Constantine, climb the ancient Palatino Hill, overlook Circus Maximus and the Imperial Palace, and stop on the legendary Via Sacra or "Sacred way". In the afternoon we have time at leisure for more discoveries and activities on your own. (B)
Day 3 | in Rome
Today we visit the Vatican Museums, located within the city's boundaries. We see the works of Raphael & Michelangelo and admire the Sistine chapel's magnificent frescoes. We continue to St. Peter's Square where some of the most important Papal ceremonies have taken place. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 4 | Pompeii - Herculaneum - Salerno
We say goodbye to Rome and travel to Pompeii, a town caught off guard by a volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Buried under ashes, the well-preserved ruins were rediscovered in the 16th century and are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our journey continues to Herculaneum. Herculaneum was a wealthy residential area with villas of wealthy Romans. Continue to your hotel for the evening. (B)
Day 5 | Amalfi Coast - Salerno
After breakfast, depart to the Amalfi Coast, one of the most spectacular journeys with breathtaking scenery. At the center of Amalfi, preceded by a broad staircase stands the Cathedral, dedicated to St. Andrea (IX sec.). You should not miss a visit to the Emerald Cave, which is performed from the port of Amalfi (optional). Continue to Ravello and visit the Cathedral dedicated to Saint Pantaleone and Villa Rufolo. Return to your hotel in Salerno for the night. (B)
Day 6 | Salerno
Full day at leisure. Overnight. (B)
Day 7 | depart from Naples
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in Naples for your departure flight. (B)
NOTE: Because of the narrow and cobbled streets, walking is the primary way of getting around. Please make sure you pack comfortable walking shoes.

Airfare can be booked at time of reservation. Airfare is instant purchase and non-refundable. Should you book airfare on your own, please be sure and book the right date. Date of tour is the start date in Rome. Most flights are overnight flights, please book accordingly.
Departures & Transfers
Tour dates are the date you would arrive in Rome. Please plan your air accordingly, as most flights overseas are overnight flights and you would depart the US one day earlier. The transfer will be waiting on arrival in Rome. Return transfer included from Salerno to the Naples airport.
