Travel Updates: A Message from our President
To our valued customers,
Great news on the horizon! Reopening is on the horizon in Ireland...and other European countries are also on the verge of re-opening if not already welcoming American visitors!
We are delighted to let you know that following the Irish Government Cabinet meeting, a road map has been agreed for reopening International Travel into Ireland.
From July 19th, Ireland will adopt the EU Digital Green Certificate which means that people that have been fully vaccinated will no longer have to quarantine or self-isolate on arrival into Ireland. This also applies to travellers from the United States of America.
Unvaccinated travelers, regardless of PCR testing will still be required to self-quarantine (for travel to Ireland) at this time once reopening begins.
Full details from the Department of Transports press release can be found here . Some countries remain on the Category 2 access restrictions list which can be accessed on the Department of Foreign Affairs website.
Note airlines and countries may require negative PCR testing with a minimum of 3-days prior to departing or returning. It is best to check with your airline / country of travel before you depart to ensure you are aware of all requirements.
For 2022, we are continually developing new adventures and offerings for you to choose from, to bring you the best of Ireland and beyond. We have made some small itinerary changes to our signature Ireland escorted tours, but know for 2022, ALL tours have been designated “small group” to give you confidence and peace of mind!
Italy is also open up to American’s with restrictions. A Passenger Locator Form must be completed EU Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) (euplf.eu) along with vaccination proof and negative testing. You can find more here; http://www.esteri.it/ for more information. Other countries are open now (Greece & Croatia for example with either negative testing or vaccine protocol).
All airlines presently are requiring a negative COVID test before boarding, which will require a negative RT-PCR test here in the US and abroad.
Some Countries may also require those visiting to be vaccinated. Celtic Tours will provide the most up to date news on requirements with any documents we provide if you are traveling with us.
We will also be updating this page regularly in order to keep you informed on any news and/or changes for travel.
