Itinerary

YOUR ITINERARY:

Saturday (day 01) is the start date in Ireland. Note, with overnight flights, a FRIDAY flight would be needed, to meet group on Day 01, Saturday at Dublin Airport.

Day 01, Saturday: ARRIVE IRELAND! Dublin - Belfast

Morning arrival at Dublin Airport. Dublin Airport arrivals can avail of our transfer time of 9:45 am for departures to our Belfast hotel. Belfast arrivals are provided transfers up to 12:00 noon. From Dublin Airport we depart and travel the short journey north via Dundalk and Downpatrick, for a coffee/tea stop at the St. Patrick's Centre. Opportunity to visit the grave site of St. Patrick. From here we continue north to Belfast. Check in at our hotel with free time to relax. From Belfast airport, it is a leisurely start to the day with time to rest. This afternoon, take in a panoramic city tour of Belfast. We return to the hotel for dinner. Your evening is free to explore the city on your own before a relaxing overnight stay in Belfast. (D)

Day 02, Sunday: Belfast - Giant's Causeway - Titanic Museum

Today we enjoy a scenic tour of the Antrim Coast and visit the Giant's Causeway and Museum. Marvel at the volcanic columns formed over 60 million years ago and hear the ancient fables of the Causeway. We return to Belfast where we visit Titanic Belfast. Extending over nine galleries, this multi-dimensional exhibit draws together special effects, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features to explore the Titanic Story in a fresh and insightful way. Learn of her conception in Belfast in the early 1900's, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise. Return to our hotel where the evening is free to experience more of Belfast. Enjoy your overnight stay in Belfast. (B)

Day 03, Monday: Belfast - Derry - Glenveagh - Donegal

This morning, we depart Belfast and travel west via Dungiven and the Sperrin Mountains to Derry City. Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Derry, including free time to explore independently. Departing Derry, we travel via Bridgend to Glenveagh for a visit to Glenveagh Castle & Gardens in the National Park. Continue on to our nearby Donegal hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 04, Tuesday: Atlantic Coast - Dungloe - Glenties

Today we travel along the scenic Atlantic drive via Brinlack, Derrbeg, and Bunbeg, voyaging south to Dungloe and Glenties. Crossing by the Blue Stack Mountains, we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay in County Donegal. (B,D)

Day 05, Wednesday: Donegal - Killybegs - Slieve League -Belleek - Sligo - Roscommon

We travel south along Donegal Bay to Killybegs and the Slieve League Cliffs. Here we enjoy a minibus transfer to the cliffs, where we delight in the scenic views of Malin Bay and the Slieve League Cliffs that look out across the Atlantic Ocean. Our tour continues south to Belleek, where we pause a while to visit the famed Belleek China showroom. Continue south via Sligo, the final resting place of William Butler Yeats, to our castle hotel, Kilronan Castle, where we enjoy dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 06, Thursday: Carrick-on-Shannon - Longford - Athlone - Roscommon

A scenic historic tour today takes us via Boyle, where we can see the ruins of the old Cistercian abbey, the ivy clad abbey dates back to 1161. Continue on to Carrick-on-Shannon which straddles the River Shannon. Continue on via Longford and Athlone, optional visit to the Church of Peter and Paul, an impressive structure of the Roman Renaissance style. Enjoy a pub lunch and some free time in Athlone. Return to our Castle Hotel via Roscommon. This evening is free to enjoy all the facilities at the castle and perhaps a light dinner on your own tonight. Overnight at Kilronan Castle. (B,L)

Day 07, Friday: Roscommon - Galway - Cliffs of Moher - Adare - Killarney

Morning departure from Kilronan Castle. We travel southwest via Tuam to Galway County and Moycullen. We enjoy a brief stop at the Celtic Crystal Factory. Continuing on, we travel south via the majestic Cliffs of Moher, where we pause with spectacular views. Continue along the western coastline, as we make our way to charming Killarney town via the Lahinch and Adare. In Killarney, we enjoy dinner at our hotel this evening. Killarney is an excellent location to enjoy traditional music and pub entertainment. (B,D)

Day 08, Saturday: Killarney - Ring of Kerry

We depart on one of Ireland's most popular and beautiful drives, the Ring of Kerry. Traveling from Killarney, we come to the town of Killorglin, famous for its traditional Puck Fair, and from here we commence the ring tour. Our drive is along the coastline of the broad Iveragh Peninsula, through the towns of Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen, Waterville, and Sneem. The scenery is spectacular as wind-swept cliffs, still lakes, lost valleys, and rocky mountains blend in awesome beauty before we circle back to Killarney for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 09, Sunday: Killarney - Shannon - U.S.

We have an early morning departure from Killarney to Shannon Airport, for your return flight home. (B)

Your tour land price is per person based on two (2) people sharing a twin or double room. When a single room is booked, a single supplement will apply. When a triple room is booked, a $40 per person discount will apply.

Airfare is additional. Once you select your tour date, you will be given the opportunity to search our system for the best available airfare from your home city. The tour date shown above is the date one arrives in Ireland. All air should be booked one day prior to accommodate overnight flights to Ireland.

Our system will search for the best possible airfare during your booking process. Note: airfare cannot be booked sooner than eleven (11) month from date of departure.

Departures & Transfers

Departure date is the date the tour starts in Ireland. One would depart from the US. one day prior to the date noted. The tour begins on Saturday.

Arrival transfers available from Dublin Airport at 9:45 am. (Flight should arrive on tour start date by 9:00 am to avail of this group transfer). Celtic Tours tracks flights booked with them to note delays and to ensure your transfer is not missed. If air is not booked with Celtic Tours, you must be available 30 minutes prior to departure from Dublin Airport. Flight information is required for all land only bookings in order to avail of our transfers. Transfer also available from Belfast International Airport up to 12:00 noon on tour start date. Tour ends for all passengers at Shannon Airport, with an early departure from Killarney to Shannon.
