The Romantic Road and Castles Tour Includes

Itinerary
Day 1 | Frankfurt to Würzburg
Welcome to Germany! Today, travel from Frankfurt to Würzburg. Along the way visit Mespelbrunn Castle. Then, arrive in Wurzburg. Würzburg is a pretty town on the banks of the Main River. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Würzburg sure to captivate you. One of the tour highlights is a visit to the Residenz Palace in Würzburg! Continue on to the Castle Steinburg hotel, set amidst the oldest vineyards of Würzburg. Enjoy free time to walk through the vineyards or to sample some wines from the castle cellar (not included).
Day 2 | Würzburg - Rothenburg ob der Tauber
The famous Romantic Route which you will be travelling to Füssen on begins in Würzburg. The German Romantic Road is one of the biggest magnets for tourism in the southern provinces of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and is certain to impress. This morning depart for Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany, and enjoy a sightseeing tour of one of Germany’s most romantic towns, then stay overnight and enjoy the evening.
Day 3 | Rothenburg - Dinkelsbühl - Augsburg
This morning travel to Dinkelsbühl, an idyllic medieval town with 16 impressive towers! Then continue to the city of Nördlingen, for a tour of the old city wall that surrounds the lovely medieval city center. This is the only ancient city wall in Germany which has been completely preserved, and has stood as a longtime emblem of its rich history. Continue on to the city of Augsburg. In the Middle Ages, this town was famous for the amazing craftsmanship of its silversmiths and goldsmiths.
Day 4 | Augsburg - Füssen - Neuschwanstein
Today, travel to Füssen, the most southern point of the Romantic Road. Visit the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle. Built by “Mad King“, Ludwig II, the castle served as the inspiration to Walt Disney’s castle of Sleeping Beauty! Its majesty is unparalleled. Travel back in time and arrive at the castle in a horse-drawn carriage, and find yourself surrounded by beauty. Then visit the nearby Wieskirche church, a UNESCO World Heritage monument. The rest of the day is free to explore the small town of Füssen.
Day 5 | Füssen - Linderhof - Oberammergau - Munich
In the morning, depart to visit Linderhof Palace. This is one of the 3 castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one where he lived for a significant amount of time! It is sure to enchant you. Then continue to Oberammergau, a picturesque town famous for its annual Passion Play and culture. Afterwards, arrive in Munich. The rest of the evening is yours to spend at your leisure, to make any last minute memories to close out your incredible trip.
Day 6 | depart from Munich
Depart from Munich. Departure transfer will take you from your hotel to the Munich airport.

Departures & Transfers
Tour date is the date the tour begins in Frankfurt. Please book your air one day prior to allow for overnight flights.
Note: if tour participants drop to 7 or fewer, there will be no tour host and it is escorted by a driver/guide only. Vehicle will be sized based on tour participants.
