Dearest traveler,

It appears you have the opportunity to enjoy London and independently explore enchanting Bath, much as a Bridgerton would.

Day 01: Arrive London

Private transfer from the Airport to your pre-booked hotel. Time to explore London independently. London has so much to offer. Perhaps hop on the London Eye to get the best views of the city, or Hop-On and Hop-Off the Tootbus London to discover much of the city. Overnight in London.

Day 02: The Bridgerton residence

This morning, join a cruise on the River Thames from central London to Greenwich (included in package). Once in Greenwich, you can explore the beautiful architecture in this area of London (often used as film locations) as well as excellent cafes, bars and shopping. At the edge of Greenwich Park and less than a 20 minute walk from Greenwich Pier, you find Ranger’s House. This world class museum and art gallery was used as the Bridgerton family’s wisteria clad mansion in the TV series. You can choose to visit the museum or just take photos of the exterior, before returning back to central London by boat. Overnight in London. (B)

Day 03: Parks and castles fit for a Queen

Pick up your hire car this morning and drive to Bath. Along the route you may choose to stop to visit Syon House and Park (the park is open daily, the house is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays). The Print Room in the house featured in the TV series as Simon’s father’s study, and the State Dining Room was used for Queen Charlotte’s meeting with her husband over dinner. Or you can stop at Painshill Park, just outside of London (open daily). The upper class families in Bridgerton spend a lot of time in parks and gardens, and Painshill Park is one of the most elegant, as it stands in for Primrose Hill in the series. The 18th century landscaped garden takes you on a journey of photogenic views and beautiful garden follies.

In the afternoon, we would recommend that you stop at Wilton House near Salisbury, to explore the house and the grounds (open Sunday to Thursday, April to September). Wilton House is featured heavily in the first season of Bridgerton, with many of its gardens and staterooms popping up in every episode. The Queen’s throne room, where the debutants present themselves to Her Majesty, is just one example. The House was also used as the façade for the Duke of Hastings’ residence, as well as the dining room of Clyvedon Castle.

Once you have explored the opulent house and beautiful gardens, drive the short distance to Bath, to check in to your overnight accommodation. Overnightin Bath. (B)
Approximate mileage: appr. 130 miles / 210 km

Day 04: Promenading in Bath

Despite the show being set in London, the city of Bath served as a key location for most of the street scenes, which isn’t surprising as it’s home to some of the best Regency architecture in Britain. Today you have a full day to explore the city. We would recommend joining a 2 hour Bridgerton walking tour, to promenade through Bath’s beautiful and historic streets, taking in many of Bridgerton’s film locations. For example, Pickled Greens, a cute cafe which was the location of the Modiste dress shop, where everyone bought their made-to-measure ballgowns. After your walking tour, you may choose to visit the HolburneMuseum – this exquisite pillared building stars as Lady Danbury’s estate – or No1 Royal Crescent, a museum which features as the exterior and some of the interiors of the Featherington’s residence. Overnight in Bath. (B)

Day 05: Balls and pleasure gardens

Depart Bath this morning and return to London. You may choose to drive via the picturesque Cotswolds and stop to explore a village in an area known for its thatched cottages.

Another exquisite park that features in the series is Stowe Park in Buckinghamshire, which you can choose to visit along the route (open daily). The parkland was used to depict Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in the show, with its Temple of Venus providing the backdrop to the outdoor Vauxhall Ball.

Or, you can visit Hatfield House (open Thursday to Sunday) in Hertfordshire which was another filming location for the Featherington’s residence. There’s a park, restaurant, Stable Yard shops and you can take a tour of the mansion, including the Chinese bedroom, an opulent chamber with silk wallpaper and canopied bed that was once reserved exclusively for the King of England.

Return your hire car on arrival in London and make your way to your pre-booked London hotel. The remainder of the day/eveing is free to once again explore Lonond. Overnight in London. (B)
Approximate mileage: appr. 170 miles / 270 km

Day 06: London - London Heathrow Airport.

A leisure transfer from your hotel to the airport is included. Bid farewell, with a promise to return. (B)
