Day
01, Friday: U.S. to Ireland. Depart U.S. for overnight flight to
Ireland. Dinner is served on board.
Day 02, Saturday: Shannon - Limerick.
Morning arrival at Shannon Airport. Having cleared Irish customs we are greeted
by our Celtic Tours driver/guide. Transfers from Shannon Airport to our Limerick
hotel where we have some free time to rest. Afternoon departure for our local
tour to the old world village of Adare and to Foynes, a small town sitting at
the mouth fo the Shannon River. We visit the flying Boat Museum and see the
luxury flying boath, the "Yankee Clipper" which landed here on a schedule basis
in the 1930's and 1940's. Dinner and overnight at our Limerick
hotel.
 Day 03, Sunday: Limerick - Ennis
- Galway - Castlebar. Departing Limerick, we travel north via Ennis to
County Galway. Coffee stop in Galway and a visit to the Galway Crystal
showrooms. Continue on via Tuam to Castlebar in County Mayo for dinner and
overnight. Day 04, Monday: Castlebar -
Achill Island - Donegal. After breakfast we commence our days touring
which will be spent discovering the beauties of County Mayo. We drive from
Castlebar, along wide Clew Bay to Mulranny and still further west to Achill
Island. Achill is linked to the mainland by a bridge, making this lovely spot
accessible to tourist and Irish holiday-maker alike. Enjoy spectacular views of
the wide Atlantic, Clew Bay and Blacksod Bay. Continue on to Bundoran in Co.
Donegal for dinner and overnight.
Day 05, Tuesday: Donegal Tour. Today we enjoy a
scenic tour of Donegal, famous for Irish tweed. We travel via Donegal Town and
along Donegal Bay to the small fishing village of Killybegs. Continue north via
Ardara and Glenties before returning to our hotel for dinner and
overnight.
Day 06, Wednesday: Bundoran - Cong - Connemara -
Ennis.  Morning departure from
Bundoran. We travel via Cong and Ashford Castle. The classic movie, The Quiet
Man, was made in this area. Continue on via Maam Cross to scenic Connemara and
along Galway Bay to County Clare and the lovely village of Killaloe, overlooking
the Shannon River and Lough Derg. Dinner and overnight in
Killaloe.
Day 07, Thursday: Killaloe - Shannon Airport -
U.S. Morning transfer to Shannon Airport for our return flight home.
Ample time allowed for last minute duty free shopping. Arrive home the same
day. |
