Day 01, Thursday: U.S. - Frankfurt
Depart U.S. for your overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Dinner will be served on board. Tours purchased on a land only basis begin on day 02.
Day 02, Friday: Arrive Frankfurt
Arrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore at your leisure. Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany, with a fascinating contrast between the modern and historic parts of the city. Accommodation at the Hotel Mövenpick Frankfurt City.
Day 03, Saturday: Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Baden-Baden
In the morning you travel to Heidelberg to visit the famous castle, followed by a tour of the historic city center. Idyllically located on the shores of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is Germany's oldest university town and one of the most popular destinations in the country. Then continue to Baden-Baden, the former summer residence of the European nobility and worldwide known for its thermal baths. Another attraction is the casino, at the foot of the black forest. Day 04, Sunday: Baden-Baden - High Route through the Black Forest - Vogtsbauernhof - Freiburg
Travel to Freudenstadt via the high route through the Black Forest, one of the most scenic tourist routes in Germany. This route offers spectacular views of the Rhine valley and the Vosges Mountains in the background. The drive includes stunning landscapes such as Mummel Lake. Visit the fascinating “Vogtsbauernho” open-air museum, for an overview of the history and culture of the Black Forest. The authentic displays give a wonderful impression of the traditional architecture and economy of Black Forest region. Then continue the tour to lovely Freiburg and accommodation at the Hotel Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus.
Day 05, Monday: Freiburg - Breitnau
In the morning visit of Freiburg, famous for its beautiful church tower. In the afternoon continue to the heart of the Black Forest, where we will have an authentic experience this night: Enjoy a typical Black Forest dinner and overnight in a romantically located hotel. If you like, have a little walk to the beautiful Ravenna Gorge or see the region's oldest chapel, both are next to the hotel. Accommodation at the Best Western Hotel Hofgut Sternen.
Day 06, Tuesday: Black Forest - Lake Titisee - Lindau - Füssen
After breakfast we enjoy a short presentation on the cuckoo clock production. We continue to a small traditional Black Forest farm where we will have a cheese tasting and you will see the true life of the Black Forest. After we will travel to Lake Titisee, nestled in the legendary Black Forest. We continue the tour to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which offers spectacular views of the Alps. Depending on weather conditions we will take the Alpine road from Lindau to Oberstaufen and Immenstadt to our final destination Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany. Day 07, Wednesday: Neuschwanstein - Wieskirche - Oberammergau - Linderhof - Innsbruck
We begin the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “Mad King“. In the midday we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche Church before continuing the tour to visit Linderhof Castle. This is one of the 3 castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one where the king actually lived for a significant amount of time. After a brief stop at the Ettal Benedictine Abbey, today‘s final destination is Innsbruck. Accommodation at the Hotel Grauer Bär.
Day 08, Thursday: Innsbruck - Munich
In the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Innsbruck, Austria, located in the Inn valley, in the heart of the Alps. In the afternoon we travel to Munich. Accommodation at the Holiday Inn Munich City Center.
Day 09, Friday: Munich
After breakfast we visit the city's main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. The capital of Bavaria state, Munich, is famous for its Oktoberfest, which is annually celebrated in September. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner. Accommodation at the Holiday Inn Munich City Center.
Day 10, Saturday: Munich - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Frankfurt
After breakfast we travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany. Sightseeing tour of this lovely medieval town concluding with a Schneeballen (snow ball) tasting, a pastry considered the signature dish of Rothenburg. Next we travel to Frankfurt. The program ends at Frankfurt airport, around 6:00 pm. Overnight at Hotel Hilton Frankfurt Airport.
Day 11, Sunday: Frankfurt - U.S.
After breakfast, make your way to the airport for your return flight home.
